Copyright & Abuse Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

1. Our Approach

Vertex Core LLC (doing business as TransferNode) respects intellectual property rights and responds to clear notices of infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws in other countries. We also act on reports of other abuse described in our Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe a file shared through TransferNode infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at that includes:

  • Identification of the work: A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The link: The full TransferNode download link(s) where the material is available.
  • Your contact details: Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • Good-faith statement: A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • Accuracy statement: A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

3. What We Do

When we receive a complete notice, we disable the link and remove or block access to the files promptly, and we let the sender know if they have an account. Because free links expire within days, many links will already have expired by the time a notice arrives; we still record the notice against the sender for our repeat-infringer policy.

4. Counter-Notices

If you believe your file was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to with: identification of the removed material and its link; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice; and your signature. Note that expired files are deleted permanently and cannot be restored.

5. Repeat Infringers

We close the accounts of users who are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices, and may block repeat offenders from using the Free plan.

6. Misleading Notices

Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a materially false claim in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages. Please make sure the material really infringes your rights before sending a notice.

7. Other Abuse

To report malware, phishing, illegal content, harassment or anything else that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, use "Report this transfer" on the download page or email with the link and a short description. Reports of child sexual abuse material are handled immediately and passed to NCMEC and law enforcement.
