Content Moderation Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

This policy explains how Vertex Core LLC (doing business as TransferNode) handles reports of illegal or harmful content, including the notice-and-action process required by the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).

1. How We Find Problem Content

We do not look through the files people share. Programs, scripts, documents and archives up to 95 MB are scanned automatically for known malware, and transfers where malware is found are blocked and deleted automatically. We also act on reports from recipients, rights holders, authorities and other users, and on automated signals such as file types that are often used for phishing or malware. On the Free plan, some transfers containing risky file types may require the sender to confirm their email address first, and lone web page files cannot be sent.

2. Reporting Content (Notice and Action)

Anyone can report a transfer, without an account, by using "Report this transfer" on its download page or by emailing . To help us act quickly, please include:

  • Where it is: The full TransferNode download link.
  • Why it is illegal or harmful: A clear explanation of why you believe the content is illegal or breaks our Acceptable Use Policy (for copyright, see our Copyright & Abuse Policy for the information a notice needs).
  • Your contact details: Your name and email address (not required for reports of child sexual abuse material).
  • Good-faith statement: A statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete.

3. What Happens Next

We confirm receipt of reports that include an email address and aim to review them within 24 hours. If a transfer breaks the law or our policies, we disable its link and delete its files, and may restrict or close the sender's account. Reports of child sexual abuse material are handled immediately and passed to NCMEC and law enforcement. We tell the reporter what we decided.

4. Statement of Reasons

When we remove a transfer or restrict an account and we know the sender's email address, we tell them what was removed, why (the law or policy it broke), whether the decision was automated, and how they can appeal, unless doing so would break the law or put an investigation at risk.

5. Appeals

If you disagree with a decision we made about content you shared or reported, email within six months with the link and your reasons. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review it. EU users may also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court.

6. Repeated Misuse

We may suspend, for a reasonable period and after a warning, people who frequently share clearly illegal content, and people who frequently send reports that are clearly unfounded.

7. Points of Contact

Our single point of contact for users and for EU Member State authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services is . We can be contacted in English.

8. Law Enforcement

Law enforcement and government authorities can send requests to . We respond to valid legal process and may preserve information on request. Because files are deleted automatically when links expire, older transfers often no longer exist. In emergencies involving a risk of death or serious harm, say so in the subject line.

9. Transparency

We keep records of the reports we receive and the actions we take, and will publish transparency information as required by the laws that apply to us.
